Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 14, 2026  ·  Last updated: September 5, 2026

Summary: Your financial data belongs to you. We store it securely, never sell it, and you can export or delete it at any time.

This Privacy Policy explains how Braynix Books ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our bookkeeping platform.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: Your email address and any profile details you provide during sign-up.

Financial data: Invoices, bills, expenses, customers, vendors, bank transactions, and other bookkeeping records you enter into the platform. This data is yours and stored exclusively for your use.

Usage data: Basic technical data such as browser type, device type, and usage patterns to improve the service. We do not use third-party analytics trackers, advertising trackers, or ad networks.

Payment information: When paid billing is enabled, payments are processed by a secure third-party payment provider. We do not collect or store card numbers inside Braynix Books.

Contact messages: If you submit a message via our contact form, we store your name, email, and message to respond to your enquiry.

2. How We Use Your Information

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure, which uses AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS in transit. Row-Level Security (RLS) policies ensure your data is completely isolated from other users — no one else can access your financial records.

We maintain automated backups and history snapshots of your company data to protect against accidental data loss.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal or financial data with third parties except:

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

6. Cookies

We use only essential cookies and browser storage (localStorage), for authentication session management and preferences such as theme. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Visitors in the UK and EU

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, we process your data on these bases: to perform our contract with you (running your account), and our legitimate interest in contacting businesses about our product. You have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data, to object to processing based on legitimate interest, and to complain to your data protection authority.

Some of the providers listed in section 4 store data outside the UK and EEA, including in the United States. Those transfers rely on the providers' own standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards.

Business email: if we contact you about Braynix Books, every message carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and we act on any request to stop — however it is worded — without asking you to confirm. You can also email us at the address in section 10 and we will remove you.

8. Children's Privacy

Braynix Books is not directed at children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

9. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will permanently erase your data within 30 days. Anonymised, aggregated usage statistics may be retained indefinitely.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you via email and an in-app notice at least 14 days before material changes take effect.
